I live in New York City, and for me, it's not just home. It's a backyard full of images worth keeping.
A couple of years ago, I got a pocket camera and started carrying it with me everywhere, and something shifted. Having something small enough to always have on me made me really pay attention to where I live, and see New York in a whole new way, even after living here for a while. I'm drawn to the bridges, the different neighborhoods, catching the light at different hours, and the details most people walk past without stopping: a hand-painted coin shop sign, a corner bodega's awning, the neon that has glowed over Myrtle Avenue since 1955.
That's what Tapestry Prints is built on: a close, ongoing relationship with this place and a desire to make something lasting out of it. Right now, that work lives on postcards. Each set comes from one part of the city, starting with Ridgewood, Queens and the neighborhoods of Brooklyn, printed on thick, premium cardstock, packed by hand and shipped from New York.
